Sometimes in winter we have a lot of fog. Although this area is not the worst of Italy. That would be a triangle that goes from Milan to Ferrara to Padova.
There the fog is really thick, a wall practically.
To drive on bad days is really a challenge, something that scares me a lot. Cars have an extra light on the back to help the drivers that follow to spot the car ahead. It helps, but it is still very stressful to drive during such days.
The fog is worst in the morning until 9:00 am, then in the evening from 4:30-5:00 pm to late night. Sometimes though the fog doesn’t lift at all.
This area doesn’t get a whole lot of it, just occasionally. The reason is that we have less humidity, we are higher above sea level, and we have the wind blowing form the Adriatic Gulf. So it can be more often windy and nippy, occasionally foggy.
But today it was like that, foggy all day long. Very romantic I must say, especially for taking pictures.
