I like taking pictures of the facades of various buildings I see in Italy. There are so many buildings that offer very good examples of facades in various styles.
In architecture, the facade of a building is the most important aspect of an architectural edifice, as it sets the tone for the rest of the building. For historical facades, many local zoning regulations or other laws greatly restrict or even forbid their alteration.
Rightfully so, as most are very beautiful indeed.
I do think, however that so many are not well cared for, or emphasized enough.
Too many I dare say.
Of course, with such an abundance of arts and architecture, taking care of everything is such a big challenge.
