Wine Tasting

This past spring I went on a wine tasting tour. The place was the Rodaro Winery in Spessa, near Cividale del Friuli.

Rodaro Wineries from the family residence

The location is very beautiful in the sweet hills of eastern part of the Friuli Venezia Giulia. Not far from Cividale del Friuli.

The Family Residence

Their production includes

Classic Methods:

Pas Dosé Classic Method sparkling wines from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay.

White wines:

Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Malvasia, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon.

Red wines:

Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Schioppettino, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Pignolo.

Dessert wines:

Verduzzo Friulano, Picolit.

The private quarters

Among the whites I preferred their Ribolla Gialla, but I absolutely loved the Schioppettino above all.

The villa

The location was splendid, we also visited the cellars.

A lovely afternoon worth visiting again

I lived the most part of my life in Washington DC, now in Italy getting to know again my country. Plenty of surprises, for good and bad, and lots of nostalgia for DC.
