Windows “Shopping” in Burano

Venice is a hot destination, but if you live near-by the one thing you want to do is to avoid Venice in summer, especially after schools close.

What to do then? Well the islands on the laguna are the alternative. Burano is also relatively busy, and if you visit for the first time you may get overwhelmed by its explosion of colors. Read the story of Burano in Colors and Old Laces.

There are so many Photo-Ops in Burano, I feel I need to go there with an agenda, like: only alleys, todays boats, or water reflections, and so on.

For me yesterday it was window sills.

I was there just for lunch, but as I said at the beginning you can’t just walk by without snapping pictures here and there.

I lived the most part of my life in Washington DC, now in Italy getting to know again my country. Plenty of surprises, for good and bad, and lots of nostalgia for DC.
